- A paper co-authored by Susan Chapman, PhD, MPH, RN, professor in Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Laura Wagner, PhD, RN, FAAN, professor in Community Health Systems, has been named among Health Affairs’ top 10 articles of 2022. The paper, “Personal Care Aides: Assessing Self-Care Needs And Worker Shortages In Rural Areas,” determined that fewer personal care aides, which are primarily funded by Medicaid, are available in more rural areas and the gap between the potential need for these services and the aide supply is greatest in southern states.
- Van Park, PhD, MPH, professor in Community Health Systems, has been selected as a member of the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center (NACC) Scientific Review Committee. The NACC was established by the National Institute on Aging to facilitate collaborative research, and manages standardized clinical and neuropathological research data that supports Alzheimer's research.
