Stella Bialous Named Aldous Chair

Stella Bialous, DrPH, RN, FAAN, professor in Social and Behavioral Sciences, has been appointed as the Lillian and Dudley Aldous Endowed Chair in Nursing, which will support her research, teaching and clinical activities.

The Aldous Chair was established in 2006 by Dudley Aldous following the death of his wife, Lillian, who devoted her career to nursing and public health. Lillian earned her master’s degree at the UCSF School of Nursing and a master’s degree in public health at UC Berkeley. Her 45-year career included serving as assistant director of public health nursing for Santa Clara County and director of public health nursing for the city of San Jose.

At the time the chair was established, it was the largest outright gift from an individual in the School of Nursing's history.
